I'm sorry. I can't be who you want me to be.
Friendship is a valuable relationship that usually lasts your entire life. Unlike family members, you get to choose your friends and invite them into your lives. Friendship however, is a privilege you should treasure because although you have many acquaintances in life, few true friends come by. These are the ones who stick by us, who guides us through rough times, who inspires us with kindness and true friendship.
A good friend can mean different things to different people. In school, it could mean no backstabbing, no lying, being loyal and reliable and helping you out when you are stuck with impossibly difficult homework. But generally, being a good friend means being loyal to those you treasure very much around you, being reliable, sensitive to your chums' needs, honest to a fault and being a fun person to be with. The real success of a good friendship depends on lots of give and take, and lots of understanding one another's characters, personalities, needs and wants.
Remember, one important lesson to being a good friend, is to let the other person be who they are and not who you want them to be.
taken from teens.
